DECORATED SKIN

I am very fascinated with the body decoration culture. People of all races have always used skin as a surface to express themselves. The body is transfigured and, through this form of communication, the human beings try to define themselves and their relationship with the world.
This carpet investigates the abstract decoration of the body which, in many cultures, represents the union between the material world and what lies beyond it; a unifying force that carries the human being to the spiritual world.
